BREAKOUT Music industry bible Music Week is backing this new monthly night (every second Wednesday in the month) which will showcase music from the newly signed, current A&R buzz or most interesting acts likely to emerge in the next 12 months - tomorrow's stars today. A club night where you are guaranteed to rub shoulders with industry and media, and catch something very special indeed. Proud's ALL NIGHT LONG DJ's dropping 4 decades of classic floor fillers to see you through until 1.30am. Breakout teams up with Institut Ramon Llull (promoters of Catalan culture and language) to host their launch party as country partner for the Great Escape this year. 3 Catalan acts will be taking the stage, Maika Makovski, Amics Del Bosc & Seward. LINE UP MAIN STAGE (ME) UK based Aussie theatrical rockers signed to Lizard King, the label that launched The Killers on an unsuspecting world. Toured with the likes of Panic at the Disco & Kasabian, they will be on tour in the UK in May with The Excerts in support of their mini-album ‘Another Story High’ recorded with producer Barney Barnicott (Kasabian, Temper Trap) and join us to headline June 13th Breakout LISTEN HERE AIDEN GRIMSHAW releases his debut Radio 1 playlisted single ‘Is This Love’ on June 3 through RCA Records. Aiden appeared as a finalist in The X Factor in 2010. His audition is one of the most watched on YouTube – a striking a cappella version of Kanye West’s Gold Digger. Following his appearance on the show, Aiden, who is 20 years old, moved from his hometown of Blackpool to London and set up a home studio where he spent two years writing and recording demos with various writers and producers. He found musical soul mate Jarrad Rogers (Lana del Rey, Tinchy Stryder), and the resulting songs make up his debut album ‘Misty Eye’ which will be released on August 13. LISTEN HERE LAST DINOSAURS Latest signing to Fictions Records, Last Dinosaurs release their debut single ‘Time & Place’ on the 28th May in the UK. School friends from Brisbane, Australia, they’ve had huge success in their homeland with their unique brand of jangly, leftfield indie pop. Back home they’ve toured with the likes of Foals and Foster the People, and join us at Breakout after an appearance at Field Day Festival LISTEN HERE POPPY & THE JEZABELS Birmingham-based 4 piece girl band who release their Richard X produced single ‘Sign In, Dream On, Drop Out!’ on their own label on 28th May. The single has already had play on Radio’s 1&2, XFM & 6Music and support from NME, Guardian & Pop Justice. The girls emerged on the Underage scene whilst still at school & signed publishing with Mute Songs, but have taken it up another level now with the help of Richard X’s pop gloss LISTEN HERE ACOUSTIC STABLE : TBC (CURATED BY PPL) LADY LESHURR Birmingham born Lady Leshurr is a female MC/Singer and producer, poised and ready to take the world by storm. Leshurr’s material blends her unique sound with popular genres encompassing house, hip hop, dancehall and pop. Leshurr has featured on tracks with Tinie Tempah, Wiley, Dot Rotten and Orbital, to name a few, and since signing a publishing deal with EMI, she recently supported Wiley, Lethal B and Ghetts & had a successful trip stateside for SXSW LISTEN HERE SAM BEETON Nottingham songwriter whose first single 'What You Look For' was Record of the Week for both Jo Whiley & Scott Mills, and he’s toured with James Morrison &The Script amongst others. Sam created his own, innovative approach to releasing music - a monthly "Record Club", so that fans can receive his latest songs on CD, every month. Each CD personalised by Sam.. Season Two of Record Club began in April 2012.
